Ear Candy: Milk + Honey [Yum]

Goapele is releasing her third studio album, Milk & Honey, in early 2010 courtesy of Skyblaze Recordings. This single was leaked in early July and the official video was released yesterday. I love Goapele, I think her voice is amazing and this is definitely something different from her normal style [however I do bangs wit it, so carry on!]. This song is more seductive, sexy, and definitely appealing to todays crowd especially with that beat. Nice to hear something new after she left us for 4 years [=/]. She is currently recording her album in her hometown of Oakland and Kanye will be producing a track or two so I am definitely hyped to hear what he cooks up. Mmmm Kanye's production + Goapele's voice = instant crack. I'm excited! Well peep the video for 'Milk & Honey'.

I have not blogged in 9 days due to work, SAT class, events, and lack of sleep. Every time I open up Blogger in my broswer, I wake up at 4 am with drool on my arm [don't judge me *serious face*]. I even thought that I lost the love for blogging until this week where a thousand things to blog about hit me like a fkn brick. This is one of them. Kid Cudi's new video for 'Make Her Say' featuring hip hop heavy weights Common & Kanye West is finally here!!! I have not watched the entire video due to the fact that I am sneaking in a post from work right now [maybe I should do this more often] but from what I have seen and since I love the song [it's on my blog duh] and sang it along while the video was on mute...I like what I see. Very creative and no bouncing tittays [Drake -_-]. This video is the love of my life right now. Cudi, Common, and Ye in one vid??? YASSSS! LIFE HAS COME FULL CIRCLE! Anyway enjoy this for me while I'm stuck in a cubicle searching for my lost earring =/.

Ear Candy: Sweet Dreams by Miss Beyonce

Well here I am stealing another blog post from work but honestly what do you expect of me, I just can't stay away =]. It's been killing me that I've been slacking on the blogging lately due to work, SAT prep classes and wild weekends [which I need to update you on!!!] EN-TEE-WAYS! This post is not about me. It is about the queen of all things r&b & gorgeousness right now. Wait for it...wait for it...BEYONCE! *horns go off* There is no denying that she is the the hottest chick in the game, bar none. No one is touching her right now and it is safe to say that she has a lead in front of these female r&b singers. Here is Miss Beyonce's video for 'Sweet Dreams' off of the Sasha Fierce side of the album. This is my favorite video so far aside from 'Single Ladies'. I'd go off on my normal commentary but I'm def supposed to be printing out documents right now so uhhh ENJOY THE VIDEO! I WILL BE BACK THIS WEEKEND [no parties are popping off lol].

Ear Candy: Best I Ever Had

Well what can I say about Drake. He's been on the scene since 2007 with multiple mixtapes and his first video was 'Replacement Girl', a song that I love dearly and jam to. I knew him as Aubrey or Jimmy but now he is Drake, the newly signed Young Money Records rapper. I hate to see all of this new found love everyone has for him because where the hell were you when 'Replacement Girl' came out? None of you fools voted for it and now 'Best I Ever Had' is getting crazy radio play. Don't get me wrong, I'm not salty I'm just saying this gravy train behind him is not sitting well with me. And why Degrassi never let Jimmy walk? Thats besides my point lol. HERE is the official video for 'Best I Ever Had' directed by Kanye West and filmed in Brooklyn's Bishop Ford High School [ew *stink face*].



What do I think of this video? It was nice seeing Trey Songz, Fabolous, Consequence and the Young Money crew making cameos. LMFAO @ the big heifers on the green team constantly dunking on Drake's pink chicks. I love how when the chick who looks a lil like Rihanna went for that winning shot and the big green chick was like 'You don't want that!" and smacked it down with her pimp hand. Overall this wasn't the theme I was going for but then again I'm not the director. The song is old to me so I don't get a thrill anymore but it was still nice. Okay I'm lying I was bored as hell. My only main issues are the constant titty action and the booty tooting. The males will find this glorious but I find annoying. If I wanna watch boobies bounce I'll jump up and down and stare at myself. However I will say that those girls have some nice tatas, they bounce like they are real but once again that's not the point lol. My point is this video is straight perverted. Period. And no one can say I am lying. And what as good with that bad acting? Those video hoes...ahem...erm...I mean video models [and I use that term very loosely] need not be acting ever again. Even though they each had the same line, they sounded bad saying it. Even their facial expressions were bad. Ladies, I say this in the most encouraging way ever: just stick to making your titties bounce unnecessarily, it'll get you far. Um Aubrey...that little speech around 4:07 was the funniest shxt I have ever heard. Line of my life: "Now when you're out there and they put that D on you, TAKE THAT D, TAKE THAT D LIKE THE CHAMPIONS YOU ARE!"

My Idol, My Inspiration, My King, Michael Jackson

If you know me you know that there are only 5 artist who make me live for music: Nirvana, Prince,Chris Brown, Bob Marley, and of course Michael Jackson. Anyone can come to me and say that they are a bigger Michael Jackson fan than I am will get a dirty look. This man, no matter what anyone says, was the greatest man to touch music and dance. He did for black people in music what no one else could. Every dance you do was derived from Michael. Every song you hear was inspired by Michael. No words can explain how I feel. My first cassette tape was Michael Jackson's 'Dangerous'. I remember playing it damn near everyday in that apartment on Winthrop Ave. My friends Kendra and Keturah would be at my house and we would dance our lives away. My mother asked me what I wanted to be when I got older and I said I want to be Michael Jackson. We had a video tape of every single Michael Jackson video and I learned those dances, you best believe I did. You damn skippy I grabbed my crotch and moved my pelvis. Even now, ask anyone, I will do 'Beat It' and 'Thriller' with the drop of a hat. I can't do the moonwalk but damn it I will learn! When anyone said something bad about Michael, you know I defended him to the end. This man is the reason why I love music and dance. No one can say they do not have some type of love for Michael. This hurts my heart and I am holding myself together the best I can but it hurts because Michael was a part of my family. Every family gathering there was Michael blasting. Every show my mother did, her class is singing a Michael song. My mother ruined her mother's wedding gloves trying to moonwalk. She learned those dances and performed them. She had a little red jacket and even to this day people know whenever she says her husband she is talking about Michael.

In closing, we must not mourn Michael's death. We should celebrate his life. Dance for Michael. Sing for Michael. Live for Michael.

Why Are You So Paranoid?

I've been waiting for this video since forever because I admit it, I am a Kanye West stan lol. I've loved everything this man has done since 2004 and this is no exception. I saw the director's cut of 'Paranoid' weeks ago when it was leaked but here is the finished version. Rihanna is the paranoid chick and even though she bothers me, this fellow islander looks gorgeous and did a good job flinging herself around during the sharp points of the song. I love how the video is like one of those little movies from the 50s. One of the highlights for me was the beginning when the shadowed hands pulled the sheets off of Rihanna. The video gets a lil boring after that point but eh it's still different from shiny cars, big booty chicks, and fake hundred dollar bills.

Ear Candy: The White Rappers Edition

Ha! Who woulda thought that there would be a day where there would be two successful white rappers out at the same time? Surly not I. I thought Eminem was the only one and would forever be the only one but we see how wrong that is.



I told you guys to go buy or download his ablum [download because the homie was undershipped!]. Amiss all this Rutgers foolishness and mediatakeout making a big deal out of him calling rappers disgusting for not giving back to Africa [he is fcking right, you spend your money on cars and bullshxt but not help the country of your people, I digress], Asher has recorded a video for 'Be By Myself' featuring Cee-lo. This is definitely one of his best tracks on the album and will get lots of air play due to its intoxicating beat and lyrics. I've been blasting it since 4/20, you need to follow suit bxtches. As for the video, it's really good in my opinion. I think its cute and has a cool concept with the female bodies and all that ish. No black chicks in the vid Ash...we might have to throw some 'bows for that kid lol.
