RIP Alexander McQueen.

I never thought in a million years I'd be hearing something like this. I don't know, like I've been speechless but this is one death that has totally stunned me. I found out through Toure on Twitter 41 minutes ago and I immediately ran to google. I am stunned. Reports are saying that he committed suicide just days after his mother's death. I am speechless. He is one of the few designers that I follow religiously and this truly breaks my heart. Man...I'm upset. He was the first designer to collaborate with Target and was supposed to show at New York Fashion Week today. I feel like this is a crappy blog post compared to the icon that McQueen missed. He will be greatly missed.

To HBCU Or Not To HBCU...

I have completed my college process [finally!] and I am now just chilling for acceptance letters. A few people I know are applying to HBCUs and I can't help but wonder if I should feel guilty for not applying to one. I can get into an HBCU in 2 seconds so me getting in is not the problem. It's that I feel like I would not fit in at one. All through high school I was like "I'm gonna go to Spelman, be an AKA, and live like they did on A Different World!" Humph! Oh how that dream died when I actually went to visit Spelman over Columbus weekend. I didn't mind that it was all girls because Morehouse is right there and it's not like I will be fcking people during class [that would be hilarious tho lol] but it is the type of girls there that I couldn't handle. The girls were either straight hood or horrendously sadity. There was no medium and me being from NYC, I need a medium because I can be a lil too much for people who aren't like me lol. Then I LOVEDDDD Howard but their administration is trash. They are always losing shit and I would hate to be one of the kids who doesn't have a dorm room. I'll be damned if I have to move off campus. Also DC wasn't pretty for me. It looked rougher than NYC lol. I felt all types of unsafe walking around that area. I would love to apply to Howard but I know I will be very distracted there between the parties and fashion, no work will be done. In general I know I wouldn't love an HBCU because I need diversity. I've been in an all black & hispanic school [elementary] then an all white school [junior high] and now I am in a very diverse high school. I love knowing all types of people and having a peek into their culture and things of that nature. I don't know man. Chances are I will apply to Howard but I don't know if I will go and I don't wanna take that spot from someone who will.

But what I do know is whenever their homecoming goes down I WILL BE THERE!

Saturday was my birthday [yay go Slim!]. I am legal baby! I can do illegal things now and not feel bad about it because I'm an adult now *side eye*. Well I wasn't too crunk for Jesus for my birthday to begin with so I wanted something low key. During the day I went to lunch with my family and then at night I went to BBQs and to a party with my main beezys. First off...everyone in BBQs was obese. I was like wtf is going on here? I swear it was the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life. Then these two girls sat the whole night mean mugging me and my girls. Def didn't notice them all that much because we were having too much fun. Jokes and pranks going around, it was cute. Although the service was good, I'm gonna need BBQs folks to be more enthusiastic when singing the happy birthday song. I mean damn I know you probably hate your job but at least smile. Either way it was good and I enjoyed myself. Then we headed off to this house party that was in Flatbush. Oh my word...poppin music, loose bitches. Girls were all over dudes, half naked and dry humping. I was like what type of shxt did these people just drag me to! These girls are sloppy, drunk and just piles of hot steaming messes. We asked the dudes if they found their behavior attractive and those fools said [and I quote] "HELLLL YEAH!". Smmfh. Then the cops came and went all Compton on us. Flashlights all over the place, sirens and such. As the cops proceeded to shut down the party, my friends and I went to hide in a room to avoid getting arrested. All of a sudden we heard yelling. My nosey ass ran out the room to discover a fight had broken out. Now, I haven't seen a good ole fight since my public school days in 6th grade so I was handed my life right then and there. After a good 15 minutes, the cops made everyone leave the house and the party was dunzo. However, the madness was not over. The fight carried on down the block, around the corner and into the street. A big ole jamboree was just going on. It was a WWF cage match [woah took it back to 3rd grade with that one]. Heifers on the ground, people getting stomped, getting hit with random objects, cursing, hair pulling, Jet-Li kicks, straight madness. And yes I stood across the street and watched it all as the cops passed them straight and turned in the opposite direction. That was my 18th birthday. It may not seem quite exciting to you but it's def one of those things that you had to see to believe and enjoy.

Aowwwwwww! It is my birthday and I am officially legal! I can do like 5 more things I couldn't before. Wonderful isn't it? I know =) I should be out at a party but it turned out to be a guido party and I can't with them. I love the Jersey Shore and all but that fist pumping looks dangerous. Can't get boxed up on my birthday at all. However, for the big day, I am going to brunch with the fam and as for the night, dinner with the girls and a partay! Nothing crazy. I'm saving my debauchery for college and when I'm 21. Why waste it all on 18? Welp I'm going to sleep, gotta wake up early to play the lotto, buy cigarettes and rent porn from the video store...'cause this skinny bxtch is 18 now =)

Shaking my damn head at my for my first post of the New Year being about a dude. I didn't even wish you guys a Happy New Year and hope that with 2010 comes bigger and better things. I didn't even share my New Years events. Like how I went to a bomb ass party in a cute lil black dress, patterned fishnets, and doc martens. Or that I had two college interviews that both went AMAZING or that I am sending out college applications. Ya know...good stuff. Smh that was not kind of me at all. SOOOO I am going to say, Happy New Year, may your 2010 be just as prosperous as I see mine being and I will be back on my shxt for blogging. Dudes, chicks, family, friends. Then they get the shock of their lives when I act like a bitch and ignore the hell out of them when they crawl their sorry asses back. Always The Friend, Never The Girlfriend

I've been talking to this dude for months now, since April or May I honestly don't remember. If we were to celebrate an anniversary I would not remember because I wasn't trying to like him to begin with. My intentions were to bag, mess with, and discard and I'm sure those were his intentions too. HOWEVER! He caught feelings and unfortunately I caught feelings too. This would be so much less complicated and annoying had feelings not got in the way. So we've been acting like a couple and shxt except we're not exclusive. It's legit a relationship without the official title of boyfriend and girlfriend. I mean at first I didn't care because a title isn't everything but then again I like the title of the girlfriend. I think every girl does even if she fronts and says she doesn't. I was watching something on the tele the other day and I had a revelation. I am the back pocket bxtch. It's alright to treat me like a girlfriend and mess around but you don't wanna commit. I refuse to play this position again and to be honest it's my fault. I'm always the friend but never the girlfriend [some cases differ]and it kills me because I don't understand what is so hard in just saying 'Yo Slim be my girlfriend' I WON'T SAY NO BECAUSE CLEARLY I LIKE YOUR BXTCH-ASS! You just hold me in your back pocket hoping I'll still be there. Well muhfxcka a skinny bxtch gotta eat and I am looking for food elsewhere. Am I The Only One...

Am I the only person who hates to do something once everyone else gets on it? I mean my blog is of course me talking about shxt that catches my eye and half the time I fall asleep before I can blog it [pretty fxcked up huh?]. Well I would LOVE to blog about fashion because I have a natural sense of style and my family has some fashion designers [unknown of course =/] thrown all around in there. So it is fitting that someone who has grown up around fashion should blog about it right? Well muthafxck that. I'm not doing it because every other blog is about fashion. People act like Polo/Rugby just came out. Um Ralph Lauren has been kicking since 1967. People act like spikes and all this dark ish just came out. NO punks and goths have been doing this for ages. While everyone called them weird, they were killing the game. I just can't stand this anymore. People forge your own paths. Just because someone else says it's cool doesn't mean it is. However...I will not disagree with one thing that everyone seems to think is amazing...Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld is my fkn friend in my head. Coco Chanel is my fairy godmother.

Man two weeks of pure unadulterated blogging? Exciting? Why yasss, yass it is. I did some Christmas gift shopping over the weekend and can I just say that this 'blizzard' was nothing short of some regular snow in Brooklyn. It was about 10 inches here if even that much. ANYWHO! I've been called wrong for my Christmas gift rules because Christmas is the season of giving. See I am giving but with some fine print.

Slim Thugg's Rules of Gift Giving:

1) I am not spending more on you than you have on me:
Look this rule is not bad at all in my opinion. It is still a recession as far as I know and I am jobless so you have to bear with me. If you spend $15 on me but someone else spends $80 on me, you can't be mad if I got them a more expensive gift. I've had people ask why someone else got a more expensive gift. You wanna know my answer to that? You get what you give! HA! Plus I would feel bad if you spent $80 on me and I spent a measly $10 lol.

2) You better give me a gift.
I am serious. Yes it is the season of giving but hell! I have to get too! It's tit for tat bxtches, you give to get. If you do not give me a gift I will keep yours until my birthday [which is next month] and if by then you do not have a gift for me, I will use what I bought for you. I think it's fair.

3) Get me something you would like.
I will be DAMNED if i receive another ugly ass sweater or some other bullshit for Christmas. What the hell is wrong with you? Do you REALLY think I will wear that? Also do get me no cheap shit that will break in two seconds, what is the point of that? Don't get me a chia pet because I will throw it at you. Don't give me a gift card to somewhere you wouldn't even shop because I will cut you with it.

4) When in doubt, give mulah!
People always ask me what I want and I always say money because I truly don't know what I want at time or it is too expensive for someone to buy. However, people make it a mission to buy me something and they show up with a lotion set or a gift card to a store I do not frequent. Please people, when in doubt give money because I would do that for you.

Those are my rules for gift giving. Call me the [skinny] Grinch if you will but hell I'm being honest.

This video was disturbing yet intriguing. I don't know what it is but I really liked it and the video made me like the song [I couldn't stand it before]. I wanted to change the channel but I couldn't. I just kept watching and nodding my head. Why do I feel like part of me is starting to like her again? *shudder* Her voice sounds good and I like the drama of the video. I'm not sure parents would like the scene of her getting shot in the water but other than that it's good. Still hate that hair, still ain't fond of her but I do give props where they are due.

I do not like Diddy at all. I truly don't. If you ask me I think Kaleena and Dawn would make a wonderful 2 woman team. They make this song what it is. From the first time I heard it I liked it and sang over the few words I did know. This video is cool, nothing too over done, simple but still poppin. I feel like the dancers were useless because I could hardly see what the hell they were doing and I do sorta wish there was a lil story to the video. I peep that Hov sample from Izzo! And someone PLEASE, PLEASE tell Diddy to stop that foolishness he calls dancing! It wasn't cute in the 90s and it isn't cute NOW!

Saw this in school like 2 or 3 days ago and I was in love. You can call Gaga anything you want but this woman is beyond amazing. I am proud to be a lil monster lol. I love this song and I will be copping that album quick! I haven't seen a GOOD music video in a minute. I mean I enjoyed those I posted above but this video gave me a feeling inside that I could not explain. I think I was simply overjoyed that she changed clothes and that every scene was different. The Bullshit I Called October

So basically I am ashamed that my post count for October is 1 post. I know I am always explaining myself but serious if you've been through the senior year of high school or are going through it right now, you know that with AP classes and college apps and supplements, that this these past two months of school have not been a walk in the park. I have had a few joys in my life since school began. My lovely baby brother was born, he is my pride and joy; I got my piercing back and convinced my brother to pierce his eyebrow, I got a canon rebel from Europe, shopping has been lovely, and my college list is fcking amazing!!! Like if you see my list you will be like damn..Slim is popping =). With rainbows must come the rain, that's where my life comes in. Extracurriculers make me wanna cut myself, my english teach is trying to kill me with work, I have sooo many college supps to finish/start, and of course my main laptop WITH ALL MY PICTURES AND MUSIC has 24 viruses -_-. Yeah so I'm not too happy at this moment when it comes to that. The viruses is what kept my blogging at a halt. I finally got a netbook from my school so I am back to computer access [praise the LAWD!].

My blog is coming back with a vengence this month. November is a WHOLE other ballpark hehe.

I've been at the hospital since 12 pm yesterday and I did not leave my mother's side until today. Tyler was born this morning at 12:14 am at 8 lbs 2 oz. I don't think I've ever felt such joy. He is a gorgeous lil fella and I am proud to say that he belongs to my mother and is my brother. I would have had pics but the hospital is MADD strict. Tomorrow I should have some when he comes to the room to meet my momma.

Foot Candy: Heels That Make You Wanna Smack Ya Momma

I've been gone for a minute but now I'm back with the jumpoff!

Ahhh I am sick today but this has given me time to blog. Empty house + bed rest + laptop that resides on my bed = blogging match made in heaven. So call me late for posting these but I'm just letting you know that when I should have been paying attention to calculus, I was busy saving these to my laptop. When I saw these all of these babies, I wanted to drain my account and run to the nearest train going to 5 ave. *sigh* I think my shopping is bad now, when I start to make serious paper there is no stopping me. I guarantee that every store selling hot shoes & big bags will know me on first name basis. EN-TEE-WAYS! let me get started:

YSL with The Divine Peep Toe:

The first time I encountered YSL was when I was 4 and my mom had this vintage YSL purse. I loved that thing beyond words. I had no know clue what the hell YSL was but all I knew was that when I got old enough I wanted to carry that purse around. Fast forward to 2009 and that bag burned in a fire -_-. Way to blow my dreams right? Ugh now instead of fawning over the YSL in my own home, I gaze at it through a computer screen where I stumbled upon these beauties.

I like high heeled shoes as much as the next girl but when I buy a shoe the first thing I look at is the heel. I love a heel that makes me say wow. The needle heel is definitely one of those wowers and combined with a platform, it's enough to make me run around in circle. I like...I like a lot. These are also very versitile, they can go from day-business attire heels to night- hot dress party rocking heels. These bad boys run for $795 so uhh either look hot or buy textbooks lol [I'd choose the books =x] Well like Hov on to the next one!

Jeffrey Campbell with the Michelle Heel:

Karmaloop is not only an outlet for streetwear, it also offers something for the girly girls [those with edge of course]. These ruffled open-toed, leather pumps run for $120 bones on the loop and come in two colors: black and pewter. My favorite details on these shoes are the unicorn heel and the rubber sole. Not only can I sport a truly unique and original heel but I won't bust my ass while in them. Score! For $120 these aren't bad at all. Jeffrey Campbell has some other divine shoes over at karmaloop. I loveeee The Posh Shoe and The Marly Wedge. Both just as gorgeous as these pumps. In general Karmaloop has some great shoe lines that people need to check out such as 80%20, Zigi, and Naughty Monkey.







Insa Babeh!

The first pair of sneakers I saw by Insa go back to 2005. I loved those things but of course I couldn't have them because 1) they were custom made and 2) I was 13...my mother would have shot me if I asked her for expensive ass sneakers [that's why I always ran to daddy xP ] Anyway from countless pairs of gorgeous and envy worthy sneakers have come heels. Last year, if I am correct, was the first line of heels released by Insa and they did not disappoint. This time around they have held up their standard of sexy. I love these heels. If my cash flow was constant I'd cop ALL of these. I am a sucker for bright colors [my fam is caribbean damn it!] so these heels hit the spot in calculus. Yeah I got in trouble for passing around my laptop for all the chicks to see but hell! it was for a good cause!

The first two pictures are The Miami Heels. What I love about The Miamis are not only the signature Insa graffiti art but are of course the heels. The multi-colored heels can set any outfit off. It can go from bland to straight poppin' with those on. I just think these are extremely beautiful and I would love a pair. Shell out 200 euro for these Italian leather platformed beauties and they can be yours at insa-heels.com. The mint sole is named Sunrise, purple sole is the Sunset, and yellow sole is the Midnight shoe.

The second two pictures are of The Stand Alone Heels. The heel is what clicked with my heart. If you look closely you will see that the heel of the pump is a leg with a tiny high heeled pump. Genius and horrendously cute. Like The Miami shoe, The Stand Alone can spice up any outfit from jeans and a tee to a mini party dress. These are a tad more pocket friendly going for 175 euros on the website. The three shoes are named the Chrome Pink, Chrome Mint, and Black Magic.

I know everyone has watched the concert on fuse tonight so a recap is not necessary.
It's been a must for me to attend a Hov concert and I couldn't ask for another to be blessed to attend. The ordeal I went through for this ticket was truly worth it because in the end I was dumb close to Hovie-Hov. I am very content with life and I will attend another Jay-Z concert. He is so captivating on the stage. The way he moved the audience was something I have never seen by a musical artist. Thanks for showing the world how NYC and Brooklyn gets down. Nobody can touch us as a city. We are too strong and too powerful for anyone to come at us ever again. I'll be back with pics. They appear as if I was far away but I was really actually close because Jay gave me a high-five when he walked off the side of the stage lol. Sleep time!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Well today was my first day of school and I am a SEN10R! It hasn't settled in yet that we are now the old heads of the school and that everyone either looks up to or fears us. I am fine with both quite frankly lol. We saw new faces and hugged and jumped all over the old faces. We didn't do very much except get our schedules, eat ice cream, sleep during quaker meeting. The seniors, however, got a nice little speech from our dean, head master, and college counselor. It was a nice speech especially after the torture we went through last year at the hands of these people but let's not dwell on that subject. I'm chilling here with my buddy Asha K. Like really a part 3? Sure it isn't laced with multiple examples of fxckery but this one alone sums it up. I seriously cannot with todays youth. So I sat down like the rest of the world to watch the exclusive Larry King interview with Mr. Christopher Maurice Brown. *blink* *side eye* *blink* What in the blue hell was that? Chris didn't share anything we didn't know, he said sorry for the millionth time, and he dodged the most important question of the night! I don't care about you being sorry, I still remained a fan and you apologized to Rihanna & she clearly accepted it. I just wanted to know what happened in that car that night. We heard Rihanna's side through the police report and now we want to hear yours. I would like to know how the hell you managed to bite homegirl on her fingers and ears. Excuse my manners but I laughed hard as hell when I heard that. How did you manage to drive a lambo and bust her up like that? I mean either the story doesn't add up or Chris needs to be a nascar driver STAT! Larry plainly asked what happened in that car and this boy refused to answer. Share the details! Screw the feelings! I wanna know!!! So I wasted an hour of my life to watch you apologized and say other foolishness that I don't remember. OH WAIT! I remember one thing, Chris confirmed that him AND Rihanna were indeed riding jet skis at Diddy's house. He said that they were trying to rekindle their friendship or did I hear incorrectly? Because if so all that shade about him not being remorseful is wrong because she was there too -_-

Anyway I had no intentions about talking about this but I needed to blog and I needed a topic so HERE! All I really want is an album from the both of them you know. Tired of him moping, tired of her...walking around. They are really about to be put on my 'Why are you still here' list.

It's That Time Of The Year Again! -_-

September is here [oh joy] and it is officially 8 days until school starts. I was all gung ho and ready to go until today. I could not wait for the college process until now. To be honest, I am scared out my ass. I have a fear of rejection [if you people haven't noticed, I have a lot of fears] so this whole receiving a small envelope in the mail thing is not sitting right with me. My fear of rejection goes beyond college letters [I don't even IM people first =/] but this is most important to me. I'm not used to getting the school I want because they always wait list me -_- but in the end I find my perfect fit so I know not to have my heart set on one specific college. What I am scared of is ending up at some hole in the wall college or not getting into college at all! They say there is a college for everyone yadda yadda but I am petrified. Everyone I know has gone to some of the top colleges and universities in the United States and I don't want to be that one who doesn't. I have no clue why I feel like it will be me but I have that inkling. I know I have the interview in the bag, college essays with some tweaking I have in a sack, my resume is pretty darn poppin and my SAT scores are coming up [in my defense I woke up 10 minutes before it started and I had to run around the corner in my pajamas]. My grades, however, are pretty proper. As and Bs...one C here...a fcking F there thanks to french. I blame my school for this because it could have been avoided. They took everyone out of that class but left me in there. 'Oh we believe in you!' Believe in me my ass! Smh muhhfckers I swear. Freshman year is perfect, sophmore was good...except that F, and junior year was pretty but could have been so much more amazing had it not been for an on going family issue that got in the way repeatedly. Anyway the main objective of this post was not to babble and complain but to make another checklist. I made my first one during junior year in one of my first posts and as I recall I sorta followed it. Well here is my senior year checklist!

1) All work, some play. First semester of senior year is your last chance to show colleges what you can do and that you will be a great addition to their institution academically. I will be working my butt off no doubt but there will be some play but not a lot. No parties, just chill with the mains, a bit of shopping, and my extra curriculars. SATs and ACTs will be even more amazing and I promise to be on point in every aspect of my life.

2) Time is on my side. Between school work, senate, and dance team, I have no clue on how I am going to distribute my time especially when I plan on getting a job and going back to dance school. I am usually good at time management so I think I will be fine if I make a schedule for myself.

3) Clock work. As I've mentioned many times, a JOB is a must. Not only will it benefit me and my fam but it will help me with financial aid and save me from ending up a starvin' marvin in college.

4) Network. I've been doing well in that department but I am taking it up a notch this year. I'm gonna network like my name is facebook [ew lame ass analogy but its okay]. Next stop world domination! Just Kidding...or not *sus face*

5) Focus. The bottom line of this all is to keep focus. I need to ignore all things that will tempt me to stray from my yellow brick road. No more worrying about foolish males, there are smarter, better looking, and taller ones in college lol. My life was consumed by in school and out of school drama so I'm gonna do it like Mary and declare no more drama in my life! I can go on forever but staying focused is the main goal.

Well so far that is all for my senior year checklist. I might add more if any point do come to mind. Everyone says I'll be fine because my grades aren't horrid [although in my mind they are] and I have my head on my shoulders but I feel the opposite =/. Anyway wish me luck this year because I promise you I will make tails spin. Smh @ my insecure to confident flips.
